Question re: Uninsured motorist coverage?

My son and I were hit by an uninsured motorist. I suffered permanent bodily injury to my neck. and my son still suffers emotionally after 2 years. My policy gives me um coverage with a 100/300 limit. Does this mean that three people had to be in the car in order to be awarded the $300k maximum? Thank You
