Are there any cheap motels in the fort lauderdale area?

I have found a Motel 6 in Pompano beach for around $50 a night which is great, but it sounds horrible by the reviews. Me and my husband enjoy Mom and Pop type motels. Are there any that we may not be finding on the internet
