What do you think about bringing back flogging?

First of all, there are approximately 1.6 million Americans in prison and it costs us tax payers $30,000 a year, per inmate to keep alive. Secondly, any criminal charged goes to prison. If you get caught selling drugs, you go to prison. If you get charged with murder, you go to prison. If you drink and drive, you go to prison. And for most of these criminals out there, prison is like a graduate school. When they get out of prison, they are most likely still the same or more ruthless. Thirdly, flogging is humiliating and painful, yet quick and cheap. Don't you think out ancestors have something to teach us?
